AI Mobility Tracking (AIM) empowers COMS to work with their clients more efficiently by monitoring their functional vision and cane behaviours. Provided a smart cane user opts in, valuable data about their mobility and cane usage is gathered, including:
- The user’s pace and steps taken.
- Distance and duration of trips.
- Self-reported measures of confidence and walking environment.
- Cane swipes per step.
- Prevailing angle of the Cane during usage.
A dashboard is provided so a COMS can monitor their client's progress and put the information to use in further training sessions. For instance, a COMS may see their client’s reduction in confidence and speed over time, indicating the need for a refresher course or other intervention.
