What’s the difference between WeWALK’s navigation and other app’s navigation?

The WeWALK navigation system was built in order to provide maximum accessibility and ease of usage for our users. WeWALK’s navigation system has some key features that makes it different from, other navigation apps:

1. Maximum accessibility: the app itself has the option of high contrast changes so that it is easy to use for low vision users. For navigation, there is a low vision map integrated into the system in order to accommodate low vision users.

2. Turn-by-Turn navigation: the turn-by-turn navigation is available in clockwise directions, cardinal and relative directions to ensure a smooth navigation experience for our users.

3. Multimodal navigation: the system will calculate the optimal route for a combination of walking and public transport modes.

4. Public transport: the navigation system has a public tracking features to help you while travelling via public transport. It will walk you through every step of your journey by helping you with audio and text notifications to navigate to your transport stop, notify you when it’s time to get off your stop, and finally guide you to your final destination.

5. Compatibility with WeWALK Smart Cane: the WeWALK navigation system is optimised to be used with the WeWALK Smart Cane. So, you will be able to use the navigation system using the cane even if the phone is in your pocket due to the cane’s in-built compass.
